Kelly Farber

Kelly Farber, American literary scout, works on behalf of many formidable foreign publishers finding strong projects from the US and Canada for them to publish in their territories, and is committed to the work of bringing great books to international readers. After working at The Gernert Company, Sterling Lord Literistic, and Barbara Tolley & Associates, she went forward to found KF Literary Scouting in 2013, and has continued to build a client base and strong international publishing programs for those clients in the years since. She opened the UK scouting wing of the company in 2018, and is proud to now offer comprehensive world English language scouting services to KFLS clients.

Phoebe Pickering

Phoebe Pickering oversees the UK office of KFLS, scouting fiction, non-fiction, and children's books for our international clients. She began her publishing career in New York City after graduating Tufts University cum laude with a degree in English Literature. Before joining KFLS in 2016, she worked as an assistant editor at Blue Rider Press (an imprint of Penguin Random House), a bookseller at PowerHouse Books, and an administrative assistant at Don Congdon Associates. In 2018 she moved to London to expand KFLS's scouting portfolio to the UK market. She has worked as a freelance writer and editor, and in addition to her publishing roles she sits on the junior board of the JM Kaplan Fund.

Izzy Newmark

Izzy Newmark graduated from Vanderbilt University cum laude in 2022 with a degree in English literature. Izzy has spent time traveling in Europe while studying Renaissance art and scotch while developing her abilities as a yoga teacher. Izzy sought to combine this investment in internationalism and discovery with her truest love -- books. She traveled to Oxford University in England to complete the Columbia Publishing Course in the fall of 2022, after which she returned to find a position at KF Literary Scouting as a scout for Young Adult and Children’s literature. Izzy has a deep appreciation for YA and Children’s literature, as it is these genres that create lifelong readers.

Maddalena Vatti

Maddalena Vatti studied Comparative Literature at the University of Bologna, UC Berkeley, and UCL in London, before settling down in the UK to begin her career in publishing. She went on to intern with some of the UK’s most respected publishers and magazines, such as Penguin Random House, Granta Books, and The White Review, and, since 2017, became a core member of FILL, the Festival of Italian Literature in London, which she currently co-curates and organises. Most recently, she worked as Editorial Coordinator for the Italian leading literary agency Book on a Tree, specialising in children’s books, and she freelanced as a reader for the agency London Literary Scouting. Maddalena is also the author of the podcast The Fifth Siren, released October 2021.

Dominique Viel

Dominique Viel started her literary career as an intern for KF Scout years ago, and grew in the publishing world through an international scouting lens. Her love of international readers is balanced with her philanthropic work as founder/executive director of InvisiYouth Charity, a 501(c)3 global nonprofit organization dedicated to providing resources and activism to improve the lives of teens and young adults living with all chronic illnesses and disabilities. From her diverse international work, Dominique has loved transitioning into new career paths with KF Scout, now as office manager, and fused her love of creative writing with her passion for foreign rights.

Georgia Panitch

After receiving a degree in Politics from Oberlin College, Georgia Panitch attended the Columbia University Publishing Course. There, she discovered her calling toward the literary world. She went on to work as a foreign scout at Mary Anne Thompson Associates and left to join the team at KFLS in 2023.
